FAQs

Is there an age limit to get my Pilots Licence?

There is no lower age limit to start your training, but you do need to be 16 to do your first solo, we have had students go solo on their 16th birthday.

There is no upper age limit, we get plenty of retired and more senior students through the door, as wanting to learn to fly has always been on their wish list.

Is there a time limit on completing the PPL?

No time limit, you can do the course as quickly or slowly as you wish.

Do I have to pass any exams?

There are 9 ground exams to pass. Please don’t let this put you off, they are multiple choice, you have a number of attempts to pass them and you will have our full support.

What if a lesson is cancelled because of the weather? Will I be charged?

There is no charge for cancelled lessons due to the weather, you can simply rebook for a better day. Most of our students still pop in and have a coffee and chat with the instructors.

Will I have more than one instructor?

We always endeavour to keep students with the same instructor throughout their training, as we believe this benefits the student.

What do I need to bring to the Airport?

Please remember either a valid Passport or Driving Licence every time you come to take a flight with us, in order for us to confirm your identity to gain an airside pass.
